Glow - Sleep

Instrumental, Pop - like, Prog - like, Post Punk. WTF?

Formed way back in 1984, they disbanded due to `Internal conflicts`and `our reaction to the well known Walsall/Birmingham fear of mixing synths with guitars` according to their myspace page. They recorded 5 CD`s - now sadly deleted - but left us this - their second `album` and the last recording they ever did "In Praise Of Enthusiasm" . Completed back in 2005, it consists of three tracks of electronic, progresssive - post punk with guitars playing odd rhythms and melodies with a dash of pop. We`ve picked out "sleep" the second track just for the breakdown where it`s the just the bass and drums.

Actually, there`s quite a bit of crossover appeal with this sound, both prog rockers and people who are into electronica can dig this, there`s no attempt to use any `vintage synth` sounds so it has the feeling of being quite contemporary - whilst being stubbornly not.

The band members are up to other things now, and are playing with other bands ... well some of them! Paul is `currently licking pavements for a living` (that`s their words!) and Allan plays Guitar/Bass in Betty & the Id and has a solo project - Midwich Youth Club

Swedenborgian Space is a killer track too. Got to include that.

You can also find some other tracks on their Myspace page, but that appears to be it for glow, damn shame.
