The opening track for Euguene`s Twist album "The Boy who had Everything" released a few weeks ago.. he`s been impressing those such as Deacons Blue`s Ricky Ross not only with his voice, his songwriting abilities and his musicianship but also his production - This album was mostly of his creation, save for an engineer and a few friends.
There`s a lean towards pop in some songs, in terms of being radio friendly but, as you listen to more tracks there`s no mistaking that there isn`t anything near plastic about the songs or how they were made. There`s depth in the arrangements overall and in this case - judging an album by one song doesn`t work. There`s something in each song that`s keeps you listening that wasn`t in the previous one.
Here`s the whole album, powered by bandcamp.
There`s a really great photo shoot of the scottish singer songwriter by Euan Robertson.
