Make some noise - Three Sheffield bands to Download

Our southern bruvs down the road have had a long strong influence on music, cutting a different path to different to our other cousins in Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow, Liverpool and London. Even with the relative short distant between us and them, historically the differences between the music scenes and the bands to come out of them have been quite distinct. Today, it`s still the same .. there is still a markedly different approach to songwriting, that probably only people geographically close to the area can pinpoint - with the disintegration of the independent labels and record shops in the UK and the internet breaking down borders, the nation lost the subconscious awareness of it`s own town and cities musical scenes. While it is easy to reference styles and movements from previous decades (say, like madchester in the early 90`s) that would come to define a town or city, it is hard for most people to do that in the 21st century. So let`s redress that by making some noise about different British town and cities ... starting with Sheffield.

I intend to to do a couple of these on each town, try and keep the posts a little genre specific - so please don`t take this as "the signature sound" of Sheffield!
