caught in the tide caught in a slide
hoping that i will learn to survive
eye on the time as it goes by
losing the light fading the lines
if you would be my guide to an escape
if you would be my guide we'd be alright
clawing the gates of every estate
there on my way until i find your place
confusing my brain all of the ways
i could not take that look on your face
Indie folk from the Nottingham-based duo (and also husband and wife - he`s from the US) who have without a label or manager sold 7,500 copies of their first album "Rue Royale" and got pre orders for the next album of 500 off the back of that. Even though their tour quite heavily , they still found the time to stitch the covers for the CD version of the album (that`s four thousand!). a labour of love yes, but only because at the start of a tour, some t****r broke into their car and stole ALL the merchandise. It meant on the eve of a European tour, hastily printing CD-Rs and handcrafting a sleeve for them - though it was a turning point in how they decided to work from then on, as the personal touch helped sell the CD.
Here we have a quick selection of the duo`s work from the opening track on their latest album to their debut that kicked off their success. "What happened next" is a particular favourite. They`re not got any northern dates planned this year, which is a shame. But if you`re out and about down south this summer you`re in luck..
