3 Handy Websites for Musicians

There a plenty of sites out there that can help the budding musicians and producers. Everything from songwriting techniques to how not to get ripped off. This generation of musicians are lucky that all this info is at their fingertips, but the trick is, as always with internet is finding the info in the first place. So here`s a quick list of sites that will definately help you on your way to getting your music out there:

1. Tight Mix.

This Blog is awesome. I mean really. Great links and very good tips too. It focuses on the practicalities of being a musician in the 21st century. How to approach MP3 blogs to get your songs heard, how to personalise your facebook bandpage without spending cash, what are the best templates in wordpress that whilst not made explicity for muscians are actually the best for displaying your art... Even if you`re not a newbie you`ll pick up a lot of great tips from this site.

2. Kompoz.

This site allows you to upload a track you`ve recorded, then you can submit that to anyone and everyone in the world to work upon your song, well not everyone! But it allows for someone who`s great a rhythmic guitarist to write a song allowing for someone to lay down a solo in whatever style you determine, so you`re not stuck with a half finished song... or indeed you can upload an unfinshed song and invite others to ` finish the sentence`. This proves as a very enriching experience as you can now work within genres that would normally be beyond your reach.

3. FindSounds.

Findsounds is a search engine to find samples of sound effects and live instruments. you can choose the sound quality, sample size. It`s also free to use. This only finds samples, whether they are royalty free or have creative commons licence attributed to them is what you`ll have to check from the website it gains the info from. Neverless it is very handy for finding the right sound when it`s 2am in the morning still trying to find a decent sound without resorting to cheekily sampling stuff you`re not supposed to! You can also do a search via your smartphone so whatever time you get the idea in your head you`re not limited to being infront of your PC to find it.
