"THANK YOU AND GOODNIGHT"
When I started to write this blog post two weeks ago, The Whatevers had released two E.P`s and I was hearing new stuff I hadn`t heard them rehearse .. things were looking okay but two weeks is a long time in music, I `ve been wrapped up in the making of our forthcoming album and the accompanying Freakout so it stayed unfinished .... only to find the two EP`s have been scrapped and some of the tracks have reappeared on what is, on the face of it - a retrospective album .. yup, (penny drops) another cool band have gone.
The Whatevers, (whatever their faults!) were a band that really placed great importance on the art of writing a classic pop song, every song deserved to be played on a 7" single in a teenage bedroom somewhere. Situations, places and feelings all put together with just that nice bit of fuzz that we`re all striving for in life.
So even though I`m two weeks late, here we ... had ... the Whatevers. Whose songs told stories that were always touching and yet fiercely northern.
BONUS TRACK
Here`s a little bonus track not included on the album that was the only one not taken down - it`s too good to miss.

"all great art is about class war and fucking" - The Whatevers.
